Library: the top bar's Library crumb is the way back from album and artist pages - #85
The "← Library" button at the top of album and artist pages sat out of line with the rest of the page (its arrow and label didn't line up with the cover or the header). The top bar already says "Library", so that crumb now does the button's job:
Breadcrumbs: on /library with an album or artist open (album, artist, tidalAlbum, tidalArtist), "Library" is a link back to the same tab and search (view, q, type kept), with replace like the old clearDrill. On the list itself it stays the current crumb (plain text). As a link it uses the existing parent-crumb style (muted, white on hover).
Removed the in-page back button from the album sleeve (library and TIDAL albums), the artist header (library artists, plus TIDAL artists' "← Back to search", which did the same thing), and every load-error state (library album, TIDAL album, library artist), so the crumb is the one way back on all of them. Only the centered "Back to library" button on the not-found screen stays.
Accessibility: the crumbs are now a <nav aria-label="Breadcrumb"> with aria-current="page" on the current crumb, so the crumb that's now the only way back can be reached by landmark.
An empty drill param (?album=) counts as no drill, like on the Library page, so the crumb isn't a link to the list it's already showing.
Layout: the sleeve's grid loses its back area, so the cover starts level with the track search on the right. The artist header centers its content (justify-content: center, even 24px padding) instead of leaving the button's space empty.
frontend/src/lib/libraryDrill.ts holds the drill params, now shared by the Library page, the crumb and the sleeve's artist-credit links (which previously each kept their own list).
TidalAlbumDetailView and TidalArtistDetailView no longer take onBack. The artist-hero-back lint contract is gone with its class.
Verification
npm run typecheck, npm run lint, npm test (385 passed), npm run build, npm run lint:ui (242 passed, 6 skipped) in frontend/.
New tests/breadcrumbs.test.tsx: the link's href for every drill param (artistName dropped, view/q/type kept), the plain aria-current crumb on the list and on ?album=, the Breadcrumb landmark, and REPLACE navigation on click. The empty-param and replace tests fail on the first commit.
tests/search-types.test.tsx now goes back through the crumb: it renders Breadcrumbs with Library, checks "Library" isn't a link on the list, opens a TIDAL album, clicks the crumb, and checks the query and filter survive.
Screenshots with the lint:ui API mocks at 1280, 700 and 390px in light and dark (album, artist, TIDAL artist), including clicking the crumb from /library?view=albums&q=post&album=…, which lands on /library?view=albums&q=post.
…rtist pages
The "← Library" button at the top of album and artist pages sat out of line
with the rest of the page. The top bar's "Library" crumb now does its job: on
an album or artist page it links back to the tab and search the page was
opened from (replacing the history entry, as the button did), and the button
is gone from the album sleeve, the artist header (including TIDAL artists'
"Back to search") and the album load-error states.
- lib/libraryDrill.ts holds the params that open those pages, shared by the
Library page, the crumb and the sleeve's artist links.
- The album cover now starts level with the list's search row; the artist
header centers its content instead of leaving the button's space empty.

Walkthrough
Library detail views no longer show back buttons. Library breadcrumbs now return from drill-down views, remove drill parameters, and preserve other query parameters. Shared helpers handle drill-parameter detection and removal.
Shared helpers detect and remove drill parameters. Breadcrumbs use the current query string to build a replacement Library link without drill parameters, while preserving other query parameters. The Library page and album artist links use the shared removal helper. The test now returns from an album detail view through the Library breadcrumb.
Album and artist detail views no longer accept or render back-button callbacks. Error views also omit their back buttons. Related layout rules, the Button class contract, and test fixtures are updated.

frontend/src/lib/libraryDrill.ts:5 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | 💤 Low value
Treat an empty drill parameter as no drill in hasLibraryDrill.
hasLibraryDrill returns true when a drill key is present with an empty value, such as ?album=. Library ignores that same value, because params.get("album") returns "" and the falsy check renders the list. The Library breadcrumb then becomes a link to the list it is already showing. The breadcrumb contract reserves that link for album and artist pages.
Trigger: open /library?view=albums&album=. The list renders, but the Library crumb is a link to /library?view=albums. Clicking it removes the empty album key and leaves the list unchanged.
Check truthy values in the helper so it matches Library's detail selection:
Non-empty drill values behave the same. withoutLibraryDrill is unchanged.

Review comment at @frontend/src/lib/libraryDrill.ts at line 5:
Update hasLibraryDrill to return true only when a drill parameter has a truthy
value, matching Library’s detail selection and treating empty values as no
drill. Preserve behavior for non-empty values and leave withoutLibraryDrill
unchanged.
Add return-link tests for the album, artist, and TIDAL artist routes.
The only breadcrumb return-link test drills into a TIDAL album (tidalAlbum). DRILL_PARAMS in frontend/src/lib/libraryDrill.ts lists four detail keys. If album, artist, or tidalArtist were removed from that list, buildCrumbs would return a non-link Library crumb for those routes. No test in the Vitest suite would fail. The current code handles all four keys, so this is a regression-protection gap, not a present defect.
Add one case for each of the other three routes. A standalone Breadcrumbs render avoids the detail-view mocks in search-types.test.tsx:
it.each([["/library?album=al-1&q=rec","/library?q=rec"],["/library?artist=ar-1","/library"],["/library?tidalArtist=ta-1","/library"],])("returns from %s with a Library link to %s",(entry,href)=>{render(<MemoryRouterinitialEntries={[entry]}><Breadcrumbsplaylists={[]}/></MemoryRouter>,);expect(screen.getByRole("link",{name: "Library"}).getAttribute("href")).toBe(href);});

Review comment at @frontend/tests/search-types.test.tsx around lines 143 - 155:
Add standalone Breadcrumbs return-link tests for the album, artist, and TIDAL
artist routes, verifying each renders a Library link with the correct return URL
and preserves unrelated query parameters where applicable. Use the existing
MemoryRouter and testing utilities; keep the current TIDAL album test unchanged.
Assert the Library breadcrumb's replace navigation in this test.
The test clicks the Library breadcrumb link and checks the returned list view, but it never checks how that link navigates. Breadcrumbs.tsx sets replace: true on the drilled-in Library crumb and passes it to the router Link. If that flag is dropped, the click pushes a history entry instead. The test still passes, because the list renders the same way under either navigation type. Browser Back would then return to the album or artist detail page.
Add an assertion for the navigation type. For example, render a small probe component inside the MemoryRouter that calls useNavigationType() and stores the result. After clicking the Library link, expect the stored value to be "REPLACE". This keeps the existing view assertions and covers the history contract.

hasLibraryDrill now matches the Library page, which reads `?album=` as
unset, so the crumb isn't a link to the list it's already showing. New
breadcrumb tests cover every drill param, the list's plain crumb, and the
replace navigation that keeps browser Back from returning to the album page.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
From the review of the crumb change:
- The library-artist load failure drops its "Back to library" button, like
the album load failures did: the Library crumb is the way back on every
failed drill page. Its comment no longer claims there's no way back.
- The crumbs are a <nav aria-label="Breadcrumb"> with aria-current on the
current one, so the crumb that's now the only way back is findable by
landmark.

Empty drill param (libraryDrill.ts:5): fixed in 0f7ee4e. hasLibraryDrill now checks Boolean(params.get(key)), matching the Library page's truthy checks, so /library?view=albums&album= keeps "Library" as the current crumb.
Return-link tests for album / artist / TIDAL artist: new frontend/tests/breadcrumbs.test.tsx renders Breadcrumbs standalone for album, artist, tidalArtist (with artistName dropped) and tidalArtist+tidalAlbum, asserting each link's href, plus the plain crumb on the list and on ?album=.
replace navigation: the same file has a useNavigationType() probe and asserts REPLACE /library?q=rec after the click.
Both behavioral tests fail on the previous head (checked by reverting hasLibraryDrill and dropping replace) and pass now.
